AUTOMATIC GAS SUPRESSION SYSTEM (CLEAN AGENT SYSTEM)

GENERAL:

An automatic Gas Suppression System is one of the fire protection systemsc specially designed for protection of valuable and costly panels, servers, and electronic equipment. In old days the available Gas was CO2 which was fast acting gas to extinguish electrical fires. However, it has tendency to damage the electronic components due to its residue and also it is harmful for human being who are inside the room where CO2 flooding has been done.

Therefore, now Clean Agent Gas has been used to extinguish electronic equipment fires. Clean agent is volatile or Gaseous Fire extinguishant that is electrically non conductive and that does not leave any residue after evaporation.

The Gas suppression system is designed as per NFPA 2001.

DISADVANTAGE OF GAS SUPRESSION SYSTEM

1. High Cost.
2. It is effective in confined space only. Open place is not suitable for extinguishment with Gas suppression System.
